When we first created Silver and Opals, I really wanted this to become a reoccuring plot line, but I wasn't sure how long it would last until it resolved itself. That being said, I think Gossip Witch could potentially make a name for herself soon. This board can be dedicated to starting to put together plots surrounding her, and I'm basically brain dumping here, so I'm sorry in advance for the messiness.
*I feel like maybe until we figure out who controls Gossip Witch, maybe we can make a joint account for her, and she can have her own thread she posts her gossip on? Or maybe everyone can control her and basically through her, let out secrets of their own characters?
*One of my biggest questions right now that I think we should sort out is: how is she communicating with her audience? Does she have an article in the post? Does she have her own paper people can either subscribe to/she sends it to them?
If it starts as her having a story in the Post, maybe it would be a fun plot for her to take over the Post. She might communicate with her targets via anonymous owl and manipulate them individually that way. Eventually, she might put up like announcement boards in the Common Rooms. We could start with her having an article in the Post, and then just have it escalate to the point where it gets out of control, too.
*I also have an idea of who it could be, but I don't want to jump to any conclusions. None of the characters know who she is yet, and I think once she gets out it will be fun to have them speculate and blame each other lol.
*In order for people to learn her name and to take her seriously, a scandal should happen over the summer. In the books, Harry, Ron, and Hermione spot Draco walk into Borgin and Burkes with his mother. He's looking quite not himself, and rather paranoid, and to make matters worse Hermione thinks she sees a Dark Mark on his arm. This might be a good spot for Gossip Witch to create a scandal. If something happens with Blaise, Lydia, and/or Draco at Lydia's party that also might be a good starting point. There's also the Diagon Alley thread, although if/when Lydia and Hermione part ways that could be the point that Gossip Witch hears about Draco.
Please post lots of thoughts and ideas about potential plots/ anything and everything about Gossip Witch! I think this is a super fun idea!
